Showers in the east Turning cold and wintry seiten=4 abk=focus
Monday
Lots of cloud across the country this morning and through the afternoon we expect a number of showers to affect eastern parts of Scotland and England with a few showers as well in the Irish Sea. Any bright or sunnier spells may be quite limited and confined to the far south of England, west Wales and western Scotland, perhaps Cumbria as well. Expect highs of 5 to 9C.
Monday Night
Through the evening and night showers are expected across eastern parts of England and Scotland. The rest of the United Kingdom should stay dry with lots of cloud but where any lengthy cloud breaks occur, expect a frost. Lows of 0 to 5C.
Tuesday
A brisk north to north west develops across eastern parts of Britain today. Overall we expect to keep a lot of cloud across Britain today with further showers expected around North Sea coastal locations. These may be more of snow over the Highlands of Scotland. Some sunshine may develop towards the west and across Northern Ireland. Again rather breezy tonight especially in the east with showers possible near eastern coasts. In the west less windy and with some clear spells a frost is possible there. Highs of 4 to 7C.
Wednesday
A stiff north east wind brings lots of cloud into eastern parts of Britain along with scattered showers. A few showers too around the coasts of The West Country and Wales with wintry ones over Snowdonia and eastern Scotland. The rest of Britain will be dry and bright with some sunshine and times. Tonight much of the United Kingdom should be dry with varying amounts of cloud and clear spells though snow showers will affect some eastern and western coasts as the winds strengthen from the north. Highs of 3 to 7C.
