Tuesday
A cold yet brighter day seems to be on the cards for today. There will be cloud through this morning over most of the country, although around southern and western coasts the cloud will be breaking with some sunny spells coming through here. Eastern coasts of England and Scotland will have showers, although these should be well scattered. Fog could be a problem for parts of Northern Ireland, this being dense and reluctant to clear. The afternoon is a cold one over the whole of the country. The best of the sunshine will be through more western parts of England and Scotland as well as Ireland. Eastern coasts could be troubled by some showers from time to time. Highs of 6 to 8C.

Tuesday Night
Skies will be clearing for many overnight. This will lead to a widespread frost forming through much of the country, the most severe over central and western areas. More northern and eastern coasts are always at risk from some showers, and these will be turning increasingly wintry. Some fog patches developing over central parts of Scotland and northern Ireland. Lows near 0 to -3C.

Wednesday

Elsewhere conditions are going to be brighter and drier with sunny spells. Later in the day an area of heavier snow showers is expected across northern Scotland. Tops of 2 to 6C.
