Overall expect a very cold today with a brisk north east wind blowing and this will bring snow showers to eastern parts of England and Scotland, a few may be heavy. Snow showers will also fall across Northern Ireland. Rather cloudy today across central and southern England with a few sunny spells, sunnier in the north west. Expect highs of 1 to 5C.

Through the evening there remains the risk of heavy snow showers across eastern parts of England and Scotland. Tonight we may see outbreaks of more persistent snow developing across Scotland and northern England. A few snow showers to in the south east. The rest of Britain looks dry with a hard frost. Lows falling to -2 to -8C.
Sunday
Strong, east winds will affect Scotland making it feel bitterly cold and raw today. Northern Scotland will have outbreaks of heavy snow. A number of snow showers will be found across eastern parts of England and Scotland any may give a moderate to heavy accumulation locally. The rest of Britain should be dry and clear with sunny spells. Expect a widespread and severe frost tonight with more snow showers in the east. Highs of -2 to 2C and feeling well below freezing in the wind.

A stiff north east wind brings lots of cloud into eastern and central parts of Britain along with a number of snow showers. Across the The West Country and Wales, central England and western Scotland it should be dry with the best of the sunshine. Another very cold, frosty night with ice patches and snow showers around eastern coasts. Strong gales develop across Scotland tonight with a risk of temporary blizzards over the Highlands. Highs of -2 to 2C.
