Monday
A very cold start to the day with icy conditions with a good deal of cloud across England, Wales and eastern Scotland though some breaks will give a few sunnier spells. There is a risk of snow showers today across eastern parts of England and Scotland, a few heavy but in the afternoon an area of heavy snow may push into eastern Scotland. By the afternoon much of central and western England along with Northern Ireland will be dry with sunny spells. Expect highs of -1 to 3C.

Monday Night
Through the evening and night we may see outbreaks of snow spreading in across much of Scotland and eastern and central parts of England. Here we may see some accumulation with the heaviest likely across eastern Scotland, north east England and East Anglia. To the west it stays dry and bitterly cold everywhere. Lows falling to -2 to -10C.

Tuesday
Very windy and feeling bitterly cold with strong winds across northern Britain. Lots of cloud across England and eastern Wales with some outbreaks of snow through the day. Sunnier across north west England, west Wales and western parts of Scotland with heavy snow showers for eastern Scotland. More snow showers to fall across eastern parts of Britain tonight with a bitterly cold and icy night to come. Highs of -1 to 2C and feeling well below freezing in the wind with lows of -3 to -12C.

Wednesday
Still windy across England and Wales today and we keep the threat of heavy snow showers across eastern parts of Britain but some may spread inland on that wind giving local heavy accumulations. The west again looks best with it drier and sunnier here. Lots of snow showers will affect western and eastern coasts with another hard and locally severe frost inland tonight along with icy patches. Highs of -3 to 1C.
