More snow in the south Very cold for all seiten=4 abk=focus

Wednesday
Another bitterly cold morning to come across all parts of the country. There will be further snow showers along eastern coasts of England and southeast Scotland, some of these heavy in places. Further snow showers affecting parts of Kent and Sussex, with an area of snow flurries extending into the north of the Midlands. A few snow showers for eastern Ireland too. Elsewhere it will be dry, bright and cold. The afternoon sees the snow becoming more persistent once again across northern England, with several centimetres of fresh snow falling in some places. The snow showers continue across the extreme southeast and also over eastern Ireland. The best of the west for western Scotland and it is here where the best sunshine will be. Highs at -&C in central Scotland, 0C over much of the rest of the country.

Wednesday Night
Snow flurries over much of England and the east and south of Wales through the evening and overnight. The snow across southeast England may become heavier for a time through the early hours of the morning, depositing several centimetres of snow. Heavier snow showers continue along eastern coasts of England, a few reaching eastern Scotland. More western areas are drier with clear skies. Snow showers affecting the east of Ireland too, whilst northern and western areas are drier and clear. Lows of -14C in central Scotland, -3C over central and southern England.

Thursday
Snow continues over much of central, southern and eastern England on Thursday morning. Most of it will be light, but an area of more persistent snow may trouble areas close to the Wash and also across Kent, Essex and Sussex where there could be 5 to 10cm of lying snow by the end of Thursday. Snow showers along the north coast of Wales and eastern Ireland too. A few snow showers in eastern Scotland but most of the country should be dry with sunny spells in the west. Highs at -7C in central Scotland, 1C in southern England.

Friday
Staying very cold throughout Friday but probably less snow showers around through the day. It is likely that the snow showers will tend to become confined to coastal areas, especially in the east. Elsewhere the day is likely to be a drier one with some good spells of sunshine for all too. However, across Ireland and area of rain and sleet will be moving into western and southern areas in the afternoon. Highs will be at just -9C in central Scotland, 4C in southwest England.
