Sunday
Mild today but very windy with gales and gusts to 60-70 mph around exposed western coasts of England and Wales and up into the Irish Sea. An area of heavy rain is expected across Northern Ireland, northern England and southern Scotland and in the afternoon it turns lighter across northern England. Some light rain to come across Wales while much of central and southern England will be mainly dry but cloudy with some pockets of patchy drizzle in the wind. Look for highs of 6 to 12C.

Sunday Night
This evening that rain spreads back south into northern England, Wales and into south west England. More rain as well for Scotland and Northern Ireland but fair and dry across East Anglia and the south east of England. Winds will gust in excess of gale across England and Wales. A mild night with lows of 5 to 9C.

Monday
Gales across England and Wales this morning will begin to subside this afternoon. A cloudy morning across England and Wales with light outbreaks of rain. In the afternoon this clears all but the far south of England in the afternoon and here it may become heavier. Apart from showers around north west coasts and snow showers for the Grampians, it's a fair dry day with some bright or sunnier spells. Rain lingers in far south tonight while the rest of the country is dry and cold with a risk of a frost. High temperatures of 5 to 11C.

Tuesday
Outbreaks of rain across the West Country spill into Wales this afternoon. The rest of the United Kingdom will have a dry day with sunny spells and occasional cloud. Windy in the north today. This rain area spreads north east during the evening and night so a milder night than last. Highs of 5 to 9C.
