Rain clearing east A cold, frosty night to follow seiten=4 abk=focus
Monday
Gales across England and Wales this morning will begin to subside this afternoon. A cloudy morning across much of Britain with outbreaks of rain. This will be mainly light but a bit heavier northern England and North Wales. In the afternoon this clears all but the far south of England in the afternoon and here it may become heavier. Apart from showers around north west coasts and snow showers for the Grampians, it's a fair dry day with some bright or sunnier spells. Look for highs of 5 to 11C north to south.
Monday Night
This evening any residual rain in the far south east of England will soon clear away and most areas will be dry with well broken cloud. This will turn it colder tonight and under mostly clear skies we expect a widespread frost to develop along with some fog patches across central parts of England and Wales. Expect lows of 0 to -3C.
Tuesday
Outbreaks of rain across the West Country spill into Wales this afternoon perhaps with some patchy rain too towards south east England. The rest of the United Kingdom will have a dry day with sunny spells and occasional cloud. Windy in the north today. Rain then spreads north across England into Northern Ireland and into Scotland this evening and tonight as gales develop across western Britain so a much milder night than last. High temperatures of 5 to 10C.
Wednesday
Quite a windy and cloudy day for much of Britain though we may see some breaks giving a few sunnier spells in the south east and east of the Pennines. There will be rain across Northern Ireland and Scotland, some of it heavy though it appears to clear southern Scotland in the afternoon. Expect gales across Scotland tonight with an area of rain from Scotland down into northern England, Northern Ireland, Wales and south west England. Highs of 8 to 12C.
