Monday
A breezy but dry start to the day across most of England and Wales. There will be some sunny spells in more eastern areas at first, although the cloud increasing here in the afternoon. A few showers for west coasts of Wales and southwest England, with a further area of rain for much of central and western Scotland, this falling as snow on the hills. Into the afternoon an area of showers will be into central southern England, some of them heavy with rain on western coasts of Wales too. The rain fading from much of Scotland although this continuing in the west. Highs at 2C in northern Scotland, 7C in southern England.

Monday Night
Some wintry showers for western and northern Scotland at first, with a further area of showers affecting northwest England and southern Scotland. An area of rain and stronger winds will be moving into southern Ireland and southwest England during the second half of the night, eventually reaching Wales and turning heavy at times. Low cloud shrouding the hills and coasts too. Drier conditions for much of the rest of the country with a widespread frost. Lows will be to -3C in central Scotland, 3C in southwest England.

Tuesday
A band of rain associated with an occluded front pushing north through Ireland, Wales and central England in the morning, reaching northern England by afternoon. Behind the band of rain conditions will be turning more showery with the showers heavy on western and southern coasts. The rain turning to sleet and snow as it moves north through Scotland in the afternoon. A few heavy showers again across more southern areas with some brighter spells coming through. Breezy too, especially on exposed coasts and hills. Highs at 4 to 8C.

Wednesday
A fair day on Wednesday with sunny spells. There could be more cloud and few spots of rain on the coasts of East Anglia, although this will be fading. Cloud and showery periods of rain across southwest England and southern Ireland. In the afternoon there will be more cloud across southern England, Wales and Ireland with an increasing risk of some patchy rain. Most of this will be affecting southwest England and southern Ireland. Staying dry and bright across northern England and northern Ireland as well as eastern Scotland, although cloud and rain will affect western Scotland. Highs at 5 to 9C.
