Dry for most Rather cloudy seiten=4 abk=focus
Friday
A mainly cloudy start to the day for most of the country. There will be some spots of rain affecting the east coasts of Scotland and parts of northeast England, with further outbreaks of rain over western Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of northwest England. It will be drier across central and southern England and there could be a few bright spells coming through here. The afternoon sees winds increasing across Ireland and the west of the British Isles; cloud and rain spreading into Ireland too. Elsewhere the afternoon should be dry overall, although still some spots of rain and drizzle for eastern Scotland. Feeling cold for most with temperatures at 6 to 10C.
Friday Night
Overnight the area of brisker winds and rain slips eastwards to Scotland, Wales and western parts of England. This is likely to become heavy at times with lots of low cloud shrouding the hills too. More eastern parts of England and Scotland should be staying dry until morning, by which time snow will be affecting the Highlands and Grampians. To the west drier weather will be arriving across Ireland, this into western Wales and western England later. Lows near 1C across northern England, 7C in southwest England.
Saturday
A wet start to the morning for eastern and central Scotland as well as eastern England. This rain may once again be heavy at times and will be only very slowly clearing eastwards. There will be further snowfall across the hills and mountains of Scotland too. A windy start to the day in eastern Scotland. Much drier and brighter weather will be affecting Ireland and western Wales, this then edging slowly east into the afternoon. However, much of the eastern half of England could stay dull and damp until late afternoon. Highs will be to around 5C in northern Scotland but 12C in southern England.
Sunday
A further area of cloud and rain as well as strong winds will be moving into Ireland and western Scotland through Sunday. This bringing some heavy bursts of rain and low cloud on western facing coasts and hills. The rain edges eastwards towards western Wales, most of Scotland and northwest England through the afternoon, again some of it may be heavy. More central and eastern parts of England will be remaining dry with broken cloud and some bright or sunny spells here and there. Highs will be near 6C in northern Scotland, 11C in southern England.
