Rain for the east Drier to the west seiten=4 abk=focus

Saturday
A wet morning for much of eastern and southern Scotland, northern, central and eastern England too, and quite breezy to the east. The rain falling as snow over the high ground of northern England and Scotland, perhaps to lower levels here for a time. This area of rain should be edging slowly eastwards through the morning, although bringing a wet afternoon to eastern coasts of northeast England, East Anglia and southeast England. To the west drier conditions will be evident after breakfast time, with the cloud starting to break and some sunny spells breaking through. There could be a few showers on western coasts and hills, but these should fade to leave the afternoon dry with broken cloud. A cold day through northern areas at just 2 or 3C where it stays wet, milder elsewhere at 8 to 10C.

Saturday Night
The band of cloud and rain lingers across eastern coasts of the country with outbreaks of drizzle and light rain here throughout the night. Low cloud will be shrouding the hills, and it will be fairly misty. Elsewhere through the country the night should be mainly dry with some clear spells, although later in the night cloud will tend to increase in the west bringing some rain into western Ireland once again. Lows at 1 to 3C for most, -2C in central Scotland, 9C in southwest England.

Sunday
Indications are for a rather dull start to the day for most. There will be some spots of rain and drizzle, especially on the hills of central and eastern England, and across Scotland too. An area of more persistent rain moving into western Ireland, the winds picking up through western areas too. The afternoon is going to be remaining Fairly dull and damp with some spots of rain and drizzle just about anywhere. The most persistent rain again through Ireland and southwest England. Breezy to the west with tops of 6C in northern Scotland, 11C in southwest England.

Monday
Outbreaks of light rain and drizzle for many on Monday morning. Most of this is only going to be light and patchy with some mist or fog affecting southern parts of England too. These slowly clearing through the day with the rain and drizzle fading from all but eastern Scotland. At the same time another area of more persistent rain will be passing into Ireland and southwest England, this then spreading slowly east through Wales and southern England through the day. Highs will be around a chilly 4 to 7C.
