Brighter weather following to Ireland. The band of rain edges eastwards and becomes fragmented through the day, reaching northeast England, the Midlands, Wales and most of central southern and southwest England through the afternoon. Brighter and windy across Scotland and Ireland, although heavy showers affecting western parts of Scotland. A mild day with highs at 10 to 14C.
Friday Night
Rain through the Midlands, East Anglia and the south of England this evening. The rain could become heavy at times, but this clearing the southeast through the early hours of the morning. Drier weather follows to the north and west of the country, this reaching all parts through the night. This will be slowly easing and turning more showery into the afternoon, although there could be some heavier periods of rain for southwest England. Misty at times over southern areas too with fog shrouding the hills. A much brighter day for northern England, Scotland and Ireland with sunny spells here, the best of them in the east. Showers affecting western coasts of Scotland and Ireland, most of these fairly well scattered. Highs at 7 to 12C.
Sunday
A ridge of high pressure builds trough the country on Sunday and this brings a much improved day. There may a few showers in the morning across England, although these will be fading away. The afternoon becomes much brighter with sunny spells and dry weather for all. The best of the sunshine is then likely across Scotland, southern Wales and the south of England. High temperatures will be at 7 to 10C.
