Cold, wet east Fair to the west seiten=4 abk=focus
Saturday
A damp and cloudy morning across much of England as low pressure develops over eastern areas. This brings periods of rain and showers, some of them heavy, and possible lasting through the eastern half of England well into the afternoon and evening. Rain may affect southern Scotland and Wales at first too, although this is going to be fading away towards the later part of the morning with drier weather then moving into the west. The afternoon should become brighter through more western areas with some good spells of sunshine developing, and just a few showers for western parts of Ireland and western Scotland. It will be a much cooler day for all at 5 to 8C. and quite a stiff wind developing over central and eastern areas in the afternoon.
Saturday Night
East Anglia and southeast England stays damp throughout Saturday evening and night with outbreaks of showery rain, still lingering on eastern coasts of East Anglia and Kent by the end of the night. Windy too for eastern coasts with gales. Drier weather across the rest of England, and mainly dry for much of Scotland and Wales too. There will be some showers for western Scotland and Ireland throughout the night, with clear skies inland. Lows near 0 to 1C for most, 2C on eastern coasts.
Sunday
Rain continues over the coasts of East Anglia and southeast England through Sunday, and it stays windy here as well. To the west it should be brighter with sunny spells and dry too for the start of the day. Scotland and Ireland will be dry at first too with some good spells of sunshine. A few showers will be on western coasts. In the afternoon showers are likely to break out across the Midlands and Wales, as well as southeast England. Highs at 5 to 9C and so feeling cold again, especially on eastern coasts.
Monday
A cloudier, cold day across much of England and eastern Wales. There will be periods of drizzle, these increasingly turning to sleet and snow, especially over the high ground of northern England. Western Wales, Scotland and Ireland will be dry with some bright spells breaking through the cloud. The best of the sunshine for northern Scotland and western Ireland throughout the day. Feeling cold everywhere with tops near 2 to 5C generally, although to 7C in the sunshine over western Scotland and Ireland.
