Very windy, severe gales Rain sweeps east seiten=4 abk=focus

Tuesday
Low pressure is going to be controlling the weather through the country during today. A cold front will be taking heavy rain east through England and Wales in the morning, with gale force winds accompanying the rain. Heavy showers follow the rain, but some bright spells coming through too. The rain will not be clearing southeast England until dark. Heavy showers for Scotland and Ireland, the showers merging to longer spells of rain at times. Highs near 14C in northern Scotland, 18C parts of the eastern Midlands later.

Tuesday Night
Staying windy through the night. There will be showers, some of them heavy across northern parts of England and Scotland, as well as Ireland. The showers could be persistent at times, especially through Northern Ireland, southwest Scotland and the east of Scotland too. Over England, Wales and the rest of Ireland the weather will be windy with showers over western coasts of Wales and England, some making it inland. Lows at 7 to 11C.

Wednesday
An unstable and brisk westerly flow through the British Isles and Ireland on Wednesday. Troughs are going to be moving eastwards through Ireland and the northern half of the country. These will bring about an intensification of showers, and these could be heavy at times. There is a risk of showers on western coasts at any time, with fewer showers making it inland. There will be a tendency for the showers to fade over southern England and Wales later as a very weak ridge of high pressure builds. Highs at 12C in northern Scotland, 18C in southern England.

Thursday
An area of low pressure passes northeast into western Scotland late on Thursday. A warm front will be spreading through Ireland, Wales and southwest England bringing cloud and rain with it, and also plenty of mist, fog and low cloud to western and southern coasts. The heaviest rain in the afternoon is expected through Northern Ireland, and central and southern parts of Scotland. Gales through England, Wales and Ireland. Highs at 21C in eastern England, 12C in northern Scotland.
