Stormy in north Rain then showers seiten=4 abk=focus

Monday
A stormy day especially across Scotland and Northern Ireland as ex-hurricane Katia moves just north of the mainland. This has the potential to bring damaging gust of winds in excess of 80 mph across northern Scotland and severe gales to Northern Ireland into northern England. Across the north of Scotland there is a risk of flooding with heavy spells of rain. Strong gales too are expected across northern England with gusts to 50 mph around western coasts. Light rain across England and Wales sweeps away this morning, then expect showers in the west, dry and sunnier across central and eastern parts of England. Highs of 15 to 19C.

Monday Night
Those storm force winds will persist across northern Scotland into the evening and night with further spells of heavy rain. Further gales will also persist in the west with a number of showers near the coasts into the evening and night. Most inland areas of England and Wales will be dry with clear spells. Expect lows of 10 to 14C.

Tuesday
Still windy across Scotland with gales persisting but moderating late in the day. Spells of rain across Scotland will move into northern England in the afternoon. Scattered showers are forecast across Wales and south west England with a largely dry, mostly sunny day across East Anglia and south east England. Just a few showers will remain around western coasts into the night with rain just in the far north of Scotland. Expect highs of 14 to 19C.

Wednesday
Another windy day in the north. For the north and the west it's a day of sunnier spells and showers, these heavier and more frequent in the afternoon. A few to come across central areas as well but perhaps dry and sunnier across East Anglia and the south east of England. Most of the country should be dry tonight as the showers fade by evening time. Expect highs of 13 to 19C.
