Wednesday
A broad southwest flow through the country bringing broken cloud and mainly dry weather through central and eastern parts of England. There will be some good spells of sunshine through more eastern areas. Northern and western parts of the country are going to be having more cloud throughout the day and a few spots of drizzle on western coasts. More persistent rain may affect Ireland and then western Scotland into this afternoon. Becoming increasingly windy. Highs at 7 to 11C.

Wednesday Night
A windy night ahead with the winds to severe gale force over Scotland and on western coasts of England and Wales. Fronts will be sweeping eastwards taking some heavy spells of rain with them, although by the time the rain reaches eastern England in the early hours the rain should be light or moderate. The rain turning to snow over the hills of Scotland with a risk of blizzards in Highland. Lows of 2 to 6C.

Thursday
A cold front becomes slow moving through southern and southeastern England on Thursday. This brings cloud and rain, a few heavier bursts at times over southeastern England. Cooler and brighter weather to the north and west with scattered showers on western coasts. The showers could be wintry around the northern and western coasts of Scotland. Highs at 12C in southeast England, more generally 5 to 8C.

Friday
A ridge of high pressure is going to build through the country on Friday. It is likely to be a cold morning with sunny spells and an odd wintry shower in the east at first. Cloud is likely to increase through Ireland and western Scotland as a warm front approaches western areas and rain spreads into western Ireland and then into western Scotland by the end of the day. Highs at a cold 4 to 8C.
