Winter Returns Getting Much Colder seiten=4 abk=focus
Monday
Colder weather as snow moves into northern Scotland today. This may start out mainly over the hills but through the day could extend to lower levels. Rain is likely across southern Scotland. Most of England and Wales starts the morning dry for frost in the south and with sunny spells. Showers develop later this morning across northwest England and Wales. These then develop across all but East Anglia and the far south of England for the afternoon. Still mild in the south with maximum temperatures today of 5 to 14 Celsius.
Monday night
We may see snow turn heavier this evening across northern Scotland and this moves into southern Scotland tonight leading to some disruption. Some rain with snow over high ground, will affect northern parts of England tonight as the rain reaches northern Wales before morning. Rather cloudy in the south tonight but essentially dry. Expect minimum temperatures of 1 to 4 Celsius.
Tuesday
Tuesday there is some uncertainty the forecast. As an area of rain and snow spread its further south, it becomes colder during the day, there is a chance that we could see a spell of snow developing as the rain pushes away to the south east this could affect northern England in morning, central England, Wales and the afternoon and southern England through the evening and early part of the night. This could fall as sleety rain with snow over the hills but again confidence in the detail is quite low on the specifics and could fall to lower levels. As it becomes clear tonight, temperatures fall to well below freezing nationwide giving a hard and widespread frost. Ice may also be a problem by morning Expect top temperatures of 3 to 13 Celsius.
Wednesday
A cold day with a raw north northeast wind blowing across the country. Expect a day of sunny spells and scattered showers, some of these maybe wintry in nature. A dry day though across Northern Ireland with long sunny spells. By this evening and he showers will have faded away as skies clear. This will lead to a cold night with a widespread and sharp frost. Look for high temperatures in a range of 5 to 7 Celsius.
