Tuesday
Turning much colder from the north through the day. Heavy snow clears Scotland followed by snow showers. Strong north east winds develop giving blizzards to the northern Pennines. Rain and showers will affect Wales and central and southern England. Expect maximum temperatures today of 3 to 13 Celsius north to south.
Tuesday night
During the evening rain, sleet and snow spreads down into Wales and central and southern parts of England as those strong winds push south. Cold and dry to the north with a sharp, widespread frost and icy conditions by morning. Expect minimum temperatures of 1 to 4 Celsius.
Wednesday
A cold day with gale force northeast winds blowing across the country making it feel much colder. Further spells of rain mixed with sleet and snow over the hills will fall across southern England and Wales. Sunnier to the north with a few wintry showers in the east. Expect a day of sunny spells and scattered showers, some of these maybe wintry in nature. By evening most places are dry leading to a cold night with a penetrating frost as it turns icy in the south. Expect top temperatures of 4 to 6 Celsius.
Thursday
A bit milder today but still feeling cold in the south as those winds remain a feature coming in off the North Sea. Apart from some rain in the north west, expect a dry day with sunny spells. Mainly again this evening and tonight with a widespread and sharp frost away from the north of Scotland. Look for high temperatures in a range of 8 to 10 Celsius.
