A cold, frosty start for much of the country this morning. It will feel cold through the day with a stiff north wind blowing. Lots of sunshine to come this morning with showers across parts of Wales and eastern England and a few wintry ones across northern Scotland. In the afternoon expect a mix of cloud, sunnier spells and a few scattered showers. Expect maximum temperatures today of 8 to 10 Celsius north to south.
Sunday night
Any scattered showers soon fade away early this evening as skies become mostly clear. With lighter winds overnight and clear skies, it is going to become very cold with a widespread frost developing across much of Britain. Expect minimum temperatures of -2 to -5 Celsius.
Monday
So a cold, frosty but dry and sunny start to the day. Rain spreads into Northern Ireland in the morning then into western Scotland into western Wales in the afternoon with a few showers across northern England as it becomes windy in the west. Elsewhere fair and dry with sunny spells. Heavy rain then sweeps into all areas through the evening and night as the winds reach gale force. Expect highs today of 8 to 11 Celsius.
Tuesday
Windy today with outbreaks of heavy rain across eastern parts of England and Scotland. Snow is expected over the Highlands. Elsewhere expect frequent, heavy showers with a risk of thunder and hail. By afternoon all parts will be in the see heavy showers as that rain has cleared the east. We may see an area of more persistent rain running in across the south of England into the night. Look for high temperatures of 8 to 11 Celsius.
