Monday
A cold, frosty start for much of the country this morning. Lots of sunshine to start this morning with more cloud and a few showers central parts of England. In the afternoon expect a mix of cloud, sunnier spells and a few scattered showers across England and Wales while rain moves in across Northern Ireland. Expect maximum temperatures today of 8 to 12 Celsius north to south.
Monday night
In the evening it becomes windy in the west with gales in the night. That area of rain becomes heavy spreading into Scotland, Wales and north west England in the evening then into all but perhaps East Anglia and the south east before morning. Expect minimum temperatures of 3 to 5 Celsius.
Tuesday
Very windy this morning with gales and outbreaks of heavy rain across central and eastern parts of England and Scotland. Snow is expected over the Highlands. Elsewhere expect frequent, heavy showers with a risk of thunder and hail. By afternoon all parts will be in the area heavy showers as that rain has cleared the east. These showers will be thundery with hail. We may see an area of more persistent rain running in across the south of England and Wales into the night. Expect highs today of 8 to 11 Celsius.
Wednesday
Continued very unsettled with a wet and windy day to come across England and Wales, with rain heavy in places. This may be replaced by some heavy, thundery showers across central, southern and eastern parts of England. A day of sunshine and showers for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Some rain may linger across eastern parts of England tonight. Look for high temperatures of 8 to 11 Celsius.
