Cloud and periods of rain affecting the far southeast of England on Saturday morning, but this clearing east later. Showers over western coasts of England, Wales and Scotland, these heavy at times and merging into longer spells of rain over northern England and southern Scotland where it will fall as snow on the hills. The afternoon sees further rain and showers for Northern Ireland and the far southwest of Scotland later. Showers in west and south Wales as well as the far south of England, Dry with good spells of sunshine to the east. Winds increasing in the west, reaching gale force here. Highs at 4 to 10C

Saturday night
Rain over the southeast of England tonight. Heavy showers over western parts of the country, with more persistent showers and longer periods of rain through northwest England and southern Scotland. Rain for western Ireland too where there will also be some severe gales. Lows at -3C in central Scotland, more generally 1 to 4C.

Sunday
An area of low pressure will be centred over Ireland on Sunday. This brings cloud and rain over much of Ireland, western Scotland and western Wales. Further cloud and periods of showery rain affecting the southern counties of England. More eastern areas will probably be drier, although showers and outbreaks of rain cannot be ruled out. Highs at a milder 10 or 11C in southern England, 5 to 8C in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Monday
Low pressure will be over southeast England on Monday, clearing slowly east. This brings cloud and rain over East Anglia and the southeast, with the chance of some sleet or even a few flakes of wet snow over high ground. More northern and western parts of England and Wales, together with Scotland and Ireland will be brighter and cold with sunny spells. showers affecting western coasts. Highs at a cold 4 to 9C
