This will persist into the afternoon and will be heavy across north west Scotland. Outbreaks of rain will also affect northern England and Wales in the afternoon. Mainly dry across the rest of Britain with the odd spot of drizzle. Top temperatures of 7 to 12 Celsius.

Rain clears northern Scotland as it turns colder tonight. Cloudy across the remainder of Britain. Rain is expected across southern Scotland, Wales, The West Midlands and south west England this evening spreading into all but East Anglia and the south east tonight. Expect minimum temperatures of 5 to 9 Celsius.
Saturday
Rather windy and a colder day to come. Outbreaks of rain across England will clear all but East Anglia and the south east in the morning but may linger across Kent until early evening. Scattered showers will be found across western parts of Scotland and north west England. Most places other areas will be dry with good sunny spells. The showers persist in the north west tonight with a colder night across much of the country with a risk of a frost. Maximum temperatures of 6 to 10 Celsius.

A fine, dry and quite sunny day in store for the United Kingdom after a cold start. Just a few showers to be found around western coasts. Rain spills in across Northern Ireland this evening then into all but East Anglia, the East Midlands and south east England tonight as the winds strengthen to gale force in the west. Colder across northern Scotland with a risk of snow. Maximum temperatures of 6 to 10 Celsius.
