A much windier day to come today. While there will be more in the way of cloud today, there will be some sunshine across central and eastern areas of England and Scotland. Most places will have a dry day but a front moving close may bring some light rain to south west England and a few showers to Wales and the West Midlands. Expect maximum temperatures of 6 to 9 Celsius.

Very windy into the evening and night with gales developing in the south west into Wales. Rain across south west England may spread east into the fat south of England during the night. The rest of Britain looks mainly dry with clear spells. Expect minimum temperatures of +5 to -1C.
Tuesday
A windy day to come on Tuesday. Rain is forecast across much of England and Wales but is likely to become very patchy in the afternoon across northern England. For Scotland a cold day with a few wintry showers. Northern Ireland is mainly dry. Confidence is low on how far north the rain may reach but southern England and Wales may see further rain into the evening and night. Snow flurries are forecast for eastern Scotland. Expect high temperatures of 6 to 9 Celsius.
Wednesday
Scattered showers are forecast for northern parts of England, Northern Ireland and Scotland. More persistent and heavy rain spills in across Wales and central and southern England. Very windy this evening and tonight with gales in the south west. That heavy rain in the south spreads north into all parts with some hill snow across Scotland. High temperatures of 6 to 9 Celsius.
