Wednesday
A cloudy and increasingly windy day to come across United Kingdom but it will become quite mild in the south. Gales develop around western coasts. Outbreaks of rain are expected across much of the country. This looks quite heavy from northwest England up into Scotland. In the afternoon central and eastern parts of England will tend to the cloudy but dry. Extensive low cloud, mist and fog is expected around west coast facing hills and coasts. Expect maximum temperatures of 11 to 17 Celsius.
Wednesday Night
Continued windy this evening with gales in the west and then across Wales and northern England in the night. Further rain to come from northwest England up into Scotland and Northern Ireland. Again this looks heaviest Cumbria up through western Scotland. Some patchy drizzle is expected in the south. Minimum temperatures of 5 to 7C.
Thursday
More rain to come across Scotland today. Rain across northern England will turn more showery. For Wales, central and southern parts of England along with Northern Ireland, expect a good deal of cloud, a few brighter sunny spells and occasional showers. Some of the showers will be locally heavy. Another very windy day with gales across northern England moderating in the afternoon. The winds drop off to the course of the evening and night and the rain and showers clear. Expect high temperatures of 8 to 14 Celsius.
Friday
A better day to come across the country on Friday and more settled. Apart from a few widely scattered showers across central and southern parts of England and Northern Ireland, much of the country should be fair and dry with sunny spells and some cloud. With light winds and clear skies it will turn cold in the night with a widespread ground frost developing. Dry High temperatures of 10 to 13 Celsius.
