Wednesday
A bright day across much of England and Wales. There will be good spells of sunshine and it should be staying dry too. An area of cloud and showery outbreaks of rain through Ireland and northern England as well as the far south of Scotland. Some cloud affecting northern Wales too this morning, with some spots of rain in the afternoon. Through Scotland follows showers and sunny spells, but more persistent rain affecting the northwest. High temperatures around 17C in the sunshine in central and southern England, but a much cooler 8C in northern Scotland.
Wednesday night
A dry night to come across most of the UK. Cloud may extend through Ireland and into northern Englajnd and north Wales, although this is going to be broken. A few showers affecting northern Scotland, these heavy and prolonged at times. A widespread frost over northern England, Ireland and Scotland with lows of -2C, holding around 2 or 3C in England and Wales.
Thursday
A complex pressure pattern over the UK and Ireland on Thursday. A front will bring some cloud and rain into Ireland and the west of Scotland, with the chance of drizzle in northwest England. Thicker cloud over southeast England too, and the chance of some spots of light rain here. Elsewhere there will be broken cloud with sunny spells and it should be dry too. Highs near 6C in northern Scotland, 17C in southern Wales and southwest England.
Friday
An area of low pressure over western Scotland through Friday. This brings some heavy periods of rain here, the rain affecting northwest Ireland too. The rain may slip into northern England and northern parts of Wales by evening. For most other areas it will be dry and bright with spells of sunshine, the best to the south. Highs at 18C in southern England, 6C in northern Scotland.
