Cloud and outbreaks of drizzle and light rain affecting wester coasts of Wales and England through this morning, with little change into the afternoon. More eastern and southern areas should be dry with some sunny spells. Thicker cloud through Scotland and Northern Ireland bringing more persistent rain here, this edging southwards into northern England and the rest of Ireland, but turning lighter. Highs at 15C in northern Scotland, 20C in southern and central England.
Monday night
A weak front bringing outbreaks of rain across northern England and Wales overnight bringing some mainly light outbreaks of rain here. Drier for central and southern England, and dry in the east too. Rain affecting northwest Scotland, but drier in eastern and southern areas. Lows around 7 to 11C.
Tuesday
A weakening cold front through the Midlands and Wales bringing a few spots of rain here, this fading completely as it clears south. Brighter weather following behind the front bringing sunny spells and scattered showers to the west. More eastern and central parts of England and Scotland will be dry with sunny spells. Some thicker cloud affecting western Scotland with outbreaks of rain here. Tops at 14 to 20C.
Wednesday
Cooler air draining south through the country on Wednesday. A cold front brings rain through Scotland and Northern Ireland at first, this then affecting England and Wales in the afternoon, becoming lighter and more patchy as it clears south later. Windy, colder conditions follow the front with gales in Scotland as heavy showers affect the north. These showers increasingly heavy and persistent in Scotland and turning wintry on hills. Highs at 9 to 17C.
