Wednesday
Persistent rain will affect Ireland, Wales and much of southern England from first thing on Wednesday morning, heavy at times. This rain will move quickly north-eastwards during the day, affecting northern England and southern Scotland by early afternoon. Throughout the day the rain will be heaviest across Ireland, western Wales, north-west England and south-west Scotland, whilst it is generally lighter and patchier in eastern regions. Northern Scotland remains mostly dry throughout the day, with rain only arriving by late afternoon. Much drier and brighter conditions spread in from the south-west through the morning, with good sunny spells in south-western regions by afternoon, although southern Ireland may see a few showers. Gusty winds will accompany the rain, and westerly winds will remain brisk in the southern half of the UK all day. Feeling noticeably milder with highs of 15 to 17C in the south, but much cooler beneath the rain in northern Britain, just 9 to 12C.
Wednesday night
Scotland will see persistent rain through much of the night, turning heavy across the Highlands. Showers will feed onto western coasts of England and Wales, heavy and persistent across Cumbria. It will remain breezy across most of the UK with broken cloud. Temperatures stay generally mild overnight. Lows 10 to 12C in central and southern Britain, 7 to 9C in northern England and Scotland.
Thursday
Many parts of the UK and Ireland will have a mostly dry day during Thursday, although with plenty of cloud. Some sunny spells will emerge across central and eastern England throughout the day, and feeling mild in any sunshine. Western regions will see greater amounts of cloud, with patchy rain in the west of Ireland. Cloudy skies will persist for Scotland, although overnight rain across central and eastern Scotland should clear away into the North Sea during the morning. Winds falling lighter through the day for many inland regions, although with a stronger north-westerly breeze along North Sea coasts. Highs 15 to 18C in central and southern Britain, 11 to 13C in Scotland and northern England.

A largely cloudy day with rain spreading into western regions on a strengthening southerly breeze. This rain turning heavier during Friday and reaching more central areas of England later in the day. Likely to remain dry in eastern England until the evening. Highs 15 to 18C in the south, 8 to 11C in Scotland and northern England.
