Some improvement Stays mild seiten=4 abk=focus

Wednesday
Low pressure to the north of Scotland brings a brisk westerly flow through Wednesday. Showery rain, heavy and persistent at times, will affect Scotland, north-west England and western Wales through the morning, becoming brighter from the west through the afternoon. Scattered showers are likely to affect the Midlands through the afternoon, although there should be some good spells of sunshine too. Eastern England is also likely to see some showery rain throughout the afternoon. Staying breezy for all areas. Cooler in Scotland and northern England with highs 10 to 13C, although still mild in central and southern areas, highs 14 to 18C.

Wednesday night
A dry night with plenty of clear skies for most of the UK and Ireland. Winds fall light across England and Wales, allowing some dense mist and fog patches to develop. Thicker cloud and a stronger westerly breeze in Scotland. Dropping cooler than recent nights with lows 3 to 8C.

Thursday
Overall a much improved day, with most of the UK remaining dry throughout Thursday. Many central and eastern parts of England should have good sunny spells once any early mist and fog clears. More cloud for Wales, western Scotland and south-west England throughout the day. Cloud thickens from the south late afternoon and into the evening, with rain encroaching into the south-west through the evening. Highs 10 to 13C in the north, mild again in central and southern areas, highs 14 to 18C.

Friday
Rain spreads quickly northwards overnight, along with strengthening south-westerly winds. Most of the rain will affect England and Wales during the hours of darkness, leaving just patchy rain during the morning. Scotland starts wet and continues to see persistent outbreaks of rain throughout Friday. Heavy showers and longer periods of rain will continue to affect western Wales and south-west England through the afternoon, whilst central and eastern England stays fairly dry but mostly cloudy. Remaining breezy all day. Highs 13 to 18C.
