Tuesday
A damp start to the day for many areas, with a band of rain spreading eastwards overnight into Tuesday morning. The rain clears Ireland overnight leaving a fairly dry day here, although with showers in the west. The rain lingers in eastern parts of England until early afternoon, but becoming brighter across the Midlands and southern England by afternoon. Winds becoming gusty as the rain passes through. Showers affect western coasts of north Wales, north-west England and western Scotland during the afternoon, with blustery westerly winds. North-eastern Scotland continues to be affected by rain for much of the day, although mostly light and patchy. Showers over the tops of the Highlands will turn wintry. Highs 8 to 12C.

Increasing cloud in the south-west brings drizzly rain to the south-west of England overnight, spreading east across southern England later. Showery rain continues to affect western Scotland and north-west England throughout the night. Clearer skies in eastern parts of northern England and Scotland. Lows 1-2C in Scotland and the far north of England, although a brisk westerly breeze should prevent a widespread frost. 5-7C for more central and northern parts of England and Wales. Staying mild in the south with lows 10-12C.
Wednesday
Cloudy skies for southern parts of Britain and Ireland during Wednesday, with drizzly rain persistent along the south coast. A spell of heavier rain spreads in from the south-west to affect southern Ireland through the afternoon. This rain extends into Wales and the Midlands by early evening becoming heavy at times. Remaining breezy with the westerly flow continuing to feed showers onto western Scotland. Driest and brightest conditions in north-east England and eastern Scotland throughout the day. Highs 8 to 12C for Scotland and northern England, but feeling mild in the south with highs 13 to 15C.

A breezy day, with gales developing in the west and north-west of the UK and Ireland. Overnight rain lingers in the south and south-east of England during the morning, but clearing by the middle of the day. Remaining mostly dry in central and eastern regions with sunny spells through the afternoon. Frequent blustery showers feeding onto western coasts throughout the day. More persistent falls of rain in western Scotland, turning wintry over the tops of the Highlands. Highs 8 to 13C.
