Cloudy and dull skies for southern parts of Britain and Ireland during Wednesday, although a warm sector across the south of England means it will feel mild. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle likely to persist for the south of the UK and Ireland for much of the day. A spell of heavier rain spreads in from the south-west across southern Ireland late morning. Rain becomes heavier and persistent for Wales and the Midlands during the afternoon and into the evening. Breezy along southern coasts, although lighter winds for central parts of the UK. The westerly flow brings showery rain onto western Scotland throughout the day. Driest and brightest conditions in north-east England and eastern Scotland. Highs 8 to 12C for Scotland and northern England, milder at 13 to 15C in the south.

Patchy rain and drizzle will clear eastwards in the first half of the night, with cloudy skies remaining across central and southern Britain. Rain may persist until morning along the south coast of England. Showery rain continues in western Scotland, wintry over the West Highlands. Patchy rain also affects the west of Ireland. Drier conditions for northern England and eastern Scotland, with clear spells allowing for a touch of frost. Lows -2 to +2C for Scotland and the far north of England. 1 to 5C for Ireland. 5 to 10C for the Midlands southwards, mildest in the south of England.

A breezy day, with gales developing in the west and north-west of the UK and Ireland. Remaining mostly dry in central and eastern regions with sunny spells through the afternoon, best sunshine likely in north-east England. Overnight rain may persist in the far south and south-east of England during the morning, with drizzly rain possibly lingering across the Kent and Sussex coast into the afternoon. Scattered showers for western coasts of the UK and Ireland. Persistent rain in western Scotland, turning wintry over the tops of the Highlands. Highs 8 to 13C.

Breezy with frequent showers and longer spells of rain in the west of the UK and Ireland. Snow over the Scottish Highlands again. Showers also affecting the south coast of England throughout the day, also threatening south-east England. Remaining largely dry for central and eastern regions of England and Scotland with some sunny spells, although with the threat of some rain spreading from the west during the afternoon. Highs 8 to 12C.
