Very windy across northern Britain today. Any residual rain across East Anglia and the south is expected to quickly clear away but staying cloudy here till the afternoon. A number of heavy showers are forecast for western parts of Scotland. The bulk of the United Kingdom should be dry and mostly sunny. Expect highs of 8 to 11 Celsius.

It stays windy in the north with rain into north west Scotland tonight. With lighter winds and mostly clear skies across England and Wales it is expected to turn cold enough for a ground frost across Wales, The Midlands and northern England. Minimum temperatures of 0 to 4C.
Wednesday
Increasingly windy in the north and west today. Outbreaks of rain to affect Northern Ireland and Scotland in the morning then northwest England and west Wales in the afternoon. Central, eastern and southern England remains fair and dry. The rain crosses The Midlands and East Anglia in the evening with showers around western coasts. Very windy tonight with gales and there will be showers in the west but it's mainly dry and clear elsewhere as it turns cold in the north. Maximum temperatures of 8 to 9 Celsius.

A very windy day today with north west gales making it feel cold. The south may start rather cloudy with a few spots of rain here and there but this fades as it turns dry and sunnier. Lots of sunshine though further north with occasional showers around western coasts of Britain with a few wintry ones across northern Scotland. In the afternoon most of the showers may be nearer North Sea coasts. It stays windy into the evening and night and dry. Most likely too much wind around fro much of a frost, perhaps in sheltered locations. Maximum temperatures of 6 to 9 Celsius.
