Monday
Through the day it will be turning colder from the north as the winds begin to switch around to the north west but still relatively mild in the south. Outbreaks of moderate rain across northern England and Wales in the morning will be turn light and patchy as it moves into central and southern parts of England clearing from the west as it becomes drier and sunnier from the north west. Expect some showers near western coasts and these of snow across north west Scotland and the odd one near the coasts of north east England. Expect highs of 7 to 10 Celsius.

Monday Night
As the last of the rain clears East Anglia and the south east late this evening it may change briefly to some sleet or snow. A windy, cold evening and night with a risk of snow showers around western coasts and eastern Scotland, dry and clear inland with a frost in some sheltered locations and look out for widespread icy conditions. Minimum temperatures of 2 to -2C.

Tuesday
Much colder today and feeling even colder in a brisk north to north west This will bring scattered rain and snow showers to some western and eastern coasts of England and Scotland and western Wales. Much of inland Britain looks sunny and dry. In the evening rain spreads into Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England with snow over the Highlands. Dry to the south and colder here. Very windy tonight with gusts of 50 mph across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Maximum temperatures of 3 to 6 Celsius.

Wednesday
Very windy across the country today and tonight with gales across Scotland then into north east England this evening and night. This will make it feel quite raw as an area of rain sweeps south with some snow over the Pennines. That rain clears the far south early this afternoon with snow showers around western and eastern coasts of Scotland. Sunnier across England and Wales for the afternoon. Tonight some rain and showers may affect North Sea coasts, perhaps mixed with sleet. With temperatures dropping below freezing, it is likely to turn icy tonight. Maximum temperatures of 4 to 7 Celsius.
