Thicker cloud in Scotland will bring outbreaks of rain and drizzle, more persistent in the west, patchier in the east. An increasing breeze for Scotland too. Highs 5 to 8C.
Tuesday night
Not as cold overnight into Wednesday with more cloud overall. Patchy rain and drizzle may affect north-eastern on Tuesday evening, moving south into eastern England in the early hours. Remaining breezy in the north, especially western Scotland. Clearer skies in the south and south-west of England, Wales and Ireland may lead to some fog developing. Dropping coldest here with lows of 1 or 2C. Central and northern Britain stay milder with lows 3 to 6C.
Wednesday
High pressure remains in charge by Wednesday with mostly dry conditions and light winds across the majority of the UK and Ireland. Quite cloudy in central and south-eastern England, with some drizzly rain possible in the far south-east in the morning. Brighter with sunny spells in south-west England and Wales, and southern Ireland. Sunny spells in north-east England and eastern Scotland too. Thicker cloud in the north and north-west of Scotland may produce some drizzly rain in the afternoon along with a stronger westerly breeze. Feeling milder for all, highs 8 to 10C.
Thursday
Some frost and fog possible in the south-west of the UK and Ireland to start Thursday. A mostly dry day with light winds. Thicker cloud in the far south of England, with some patchy rain and drizzle again around Channel coasts. Broken cloud and sunny spells for southern Ireland, Wales, the Midlands and northern England. An approaching warm front brings more cloud for Scotland with patchy rain in the west, and an increasing westerly breeze through the day. Highs 7 to 9C.
