A warm sector affect England and Wales on Wednesday, with mild and mostly cloudy conditions. Outbreaks of rain affect eastern England on Wednesday morning. Some drizzly rain may persist for the Midlands and south, with some brighter spells developing in the afternoon. Persistent rain in western Scotland and Ireland in the morning. A cold front brings a spell of heavy rain to Wales, north-west England and south-western Scotland by late afternoon and evening. Sunny spells move into Ireland by afternoon with a few showers in the west. Highs 6 to 9C in the north, feeling mild with 10 to 11C in central and southern England.
Wednesday night
The rain in western regions spreads east across much of the UK during the evening and night, becoming fragmented and lighter as it moves east. Clearer skies across Ireland spread into western Scotland and Wales, although with showers moving onto western coasts. Becoming drier across the Midlands by the end of the night, patchy rain continuing in the east. Lows 0 to 3C in the north and west with the risk of some icy patches, milder at 4 to 7C in the south and east.

Low pressure is centred west of Ireland on Thursday, with outbreaks of rain clearing away from the south-east early in the morning behind a cold front. Persistent bursts of rain in the west and south-west of the UK and Ireland throughout the day accompanied by squally winds. Showers affect the south coast of England too. Scattered showers in western Scotland, Northern Ireland and north-west England. Bright and sunny spells developing in central and eastern England and eastern Scotland into the afternoon. Highs 4 to 6C in the north, milder at 8 to 10C in the south.

Low pressure centred over western Scotland on Friday maintains an unsettled theme in the west with showers or longer periods of rain. Showers affect south-west Scotland and north-west England. Fewer showers and brighter spells in northern Scotland. Some wintry showers over the tops of the Highlands. Frequent heavy pulses of rain in the south-west England and Wales and also along the south coast. Drier with sunny spells in central and eastern England. Highs 4 to 9C.
