Rather windy across England and Wales but the winds tend to moderate later in the afternoon. Friday remains unsettled with sunny spells, cloud and occasional showers. In the morning the heaviest of these could be across northern England and northern Scotland. In the afternoon scattered showers will persist across the country while an area of more persistent and possibly heavy rain threatens Kent and East Sussex. Highs of 5 to 9 Celsius.

Throughout the evening and night it will be windy and that rain near Kent may push up into southern England and East Anglia during the night. Some heavy showers persist near western coasts. This may move quickly into Wales and northern England before morning. Mainly dry across Scotland and Northern Ireland with a frost. Expect minimum temperatures of 1 to 5 Celsius.

Quite windy today and there is some uncertainty on the rain area. Rain may be across Wales, northern England, Northern Ireland and southern Scotland. Much of the country looks wet for the afternoon, the heaviest rain in the west and north. Not much change is expected in the evening and the night. Expect maximum temperatures of 5 to 9 Celsius.

Windy across Scotland today. Rain across Scotland and northern England tends to fizzle out in the afternoon. Elsewhere expect a good deal of dry with a good deal of cloud, sunny spells and a few showers in the west. Some rain may also be very close to North Sea coasts into East Anglia. Apart from showers in the west, much of the country looks dry with clear spells tonight and this could bring a widespread frost and some fog patches by morning. Expect maximum temperatures of five to 9 Celsius.
