Monday dry for most Rain from west Tuesday seiten=4 abk=focus

Sunday
Low pressure remains centred across the north-west of the British Isles during Sunday, with outbreaks of rain and showers quite persistent for Northern Ireland, western and south-western Scotland. Showers more scattered for western coasts of England and Wales. Showery rain in the west of Ireland too. Some persistent falls of rain for eastern Scotland, with snow over the Highlands. Some rain too for eastern coastal counties of England during the day. Driest and brightest weather in central parts of England, with some sunny breaks in the south. Highs 4 to 6C in the north, 7 to 9C in the south.

Sunday night
A few showers around western coasts overnight, but most places are dry. Clearing skies allow temperatures to fall away, with some frost and ice to start Monday morning. Fog expected to form quite widely under light winds, especially in central and eastern regions of England. This may be slow to clear in the morning. Lows typically between -1 and +2C.

Monday
A misty and murky start to Monday with some fog patches quite persistent in the east of England. Most of the UK and Ireland will have a dry day, but with a scattering of showers in the west, which could give some locally persistent outbreaks. Fog lifting into low cloud, so for many it is likely to remain quite dull, with just a few sunny breaks coming through in the afternoon, most likely in the western half of the UK.

Tuesday
A chilly start to Tuesday, with widespread frost and fog forming, which may be stubborn to clear in the east. Rain spreads into Ireland early in the morning, moving steadily east to affect western parts of England and Wales by afternoon. Turning to snow over the Highlands of Scotland. Most of the country expected to see rain by the evening, although lighter and more patchy in the south-east. Highs 3 to 8C.
