Outbreaks of rain and heavy showers are forecast across Scotland, Northern Ireland far north of England this morning and going the afternoon this area of showery rain will be slipping further south, reaching East Anglia, the northern half of the Midlands and the northern half of Wales. To the south of this it should stay dry morning sunshine giving way to increasing cloud through the afternoon. As it turns colder this could be mixed with some wintriness over high ground on the Pennines. Highs of 6 to 10 Celsius.

Saturday Night
It stays windy this evening as the showery rain becomes lighter moving quickly through central and south eastern parts of England. Overnight. Strong southerly winds will develop in the west with gusts to 60 mi./h around western coasts before morning as outbreaks of rain move in across western Scotland, western Wales, Northern Ireland and Cornwall. This will be preceded by snow over high ground of northern Scotland. Elsewhere clear skies will give way to the thickening cloud from the west. Expect minimum temperatures of 1 to 5 Celsius.

Gusts of 40 to 50 mi./h are likely inland with higher gusts to 70 mi./h over the southern uplands and perhaps as high as 80 mi./h over northern Scotland.
