Sunday
Sunday is looking very windy and wet with gales in the west spreading east across the country. Outbreaks of heavy rain in the west sweep into all parts this morning. The heaviest rain is expected in the west with a risk of flooding across south west England. As the rain clears the north and west in the afternoon it may briefly change to wet snow with wintry showers onto the north coast of Northern Ireland and northern Scotland. Highs of 4 to 9 Celsius.

Sunday Night
It stays very windy this evening and tonight. Persistent rain then clears eastern areas in the evening again with a few scattered wintry showers possible across Scotland, the Pennines, Snowdonia and perhaps Dartmoor. During the night another area of light to moderate rain spreads to all but the south east by morning and may be mixed with some wintriness. This looks very light and patchy in the south. Expect minimum temperatures of 1 to 3 Celsius.

Monday
A very windy and colder feel to the day on Monday with some patchy light rain across much of the country in the morning. Some sleet or snow may affect the hills. A drier, brighter afternoon with showers across western parts of Scotland, Wales and western England, these wintry across northern Scotland. These showers persist into the evening. Continued windy for the evening and night and overnight there may be some rain across Scotland and northern England with showers around western and southern coasts. Expect maximum temperatures of 4 to 6 Celsius.

Tuesday
It becomes less windy during Tuesday. Still some rain may affect Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland with showers across Wales and the far south of England. Drier and brighter in the east. Showers may linger around the western and eastern coasts tonight. Mainly dry inland and with lighter winds we may see a sharp, widespread frost and some icy patches. Expect maximum temperatures of 4 to 7 Celsius.
