Rain Spreading East Windy seiten=4 abk=focus
Friday
It becomes increasingly windy today with winds touching gale force around exposed western coasts as afternoon. Central eastern parts of Britain will start off rather cold but dry while an area of rain is expected across Northern Ireland, Wales and southwest England. In the afternoon the rain is likely to turn heavy as it spreads eastward and may be preceded by a spell of heavy snow across the northern Pennines, the Southern Uplands and the Highlands. Highs of 3 to 6 Celsius.
Friday Night
It stays quite windy across England and Wales. To the course of the evening and night. Most parts of the country will be quite wet spells of heavy rain. This evening will be clearing from the west. The rain eventually clears eastern areas as it does so there is a risk of a band of wintry showers crossing the country that could give some local accumulations, more so across northern England and Scotland. Expect minimum temperatures of 1 to 3 Celsius.
Saturday
It remains quite windy on Saturday with winds of 50 mi./h in land and 60 mi./h around western coasts. This will make it feel quite chilly today. Eastern parts of England look to be generally fair and dry with sporadic outbreaks of rain across the rest of the country. In the evening winds will remain quite strong with gusts in excess of 60 mi./h across north east England. Outbreaks of like to patchy moderate rain affects much of the country in the evening then drier overnight with showers in the north and west. Expect maximum temperatures of 3 to 6 Celsius.
Sunday
Continued rather windy today and overnight they will again be gusting to gale force around western coasts. Expect more cloud around western coasts and across Scotland with some showers. Most of the country should get by with a dry day with some sunshine. It should remain dry for much of the country to the evening and night but it will become quite windy again, perhaps with a good deal of cloud, limiting any frost. Expect maximum temperatures of 4 to 7 Celsius.
