Tuesday
A bright start to the morning for many central and eastern parts of the country. There will be more in the way of cloud to the north and west with a few spots of rain on coasts and hills, mainly in Scotland. This afternoon is likely to be fair in many southern and eastern areas with good spells of sunshine. Temperatures rising to 10 to 15C in a brisk westerly wind.

Tuesday night
A front moving through Scotland overnight bringing cloud and some outbreaks of rain, mostly to the north and west, Some drizzle too across the high ground of northwest England. Drier to the east and south with some clear spells, the best of them in the far south. Lows near 3C in southern England, 7C in northern Scotland.

Wednesday
High pressure becomes centred in the English Channel on Wednesday. This brings plenty of dry weather to much of England and Wales, with some good spells of sunshine, the best of them in southern and eastern areas. Fronts across northern Scotland bringing some cloud and outbreaks of rain to Ireland and to the north and west of Scotland. Some drizzle or light rain in northwest England. Tops near 9 to 16C.

Thursday
Pressure remains high across the southern half of the UK through Thursday, with the main high centred southwest of Ireland. A cold front slipping southwards into northern England and Ireland. This will be bringing cloud and some showery outbreaks of rain here. More southern and central parts of England and Wales should be dry and bright with sunny spells. Showers in northern and western Scotland, some of them heavy. Temperatures rising to 9 to 16C.
