Some heavy showers Mixed start to the week seiten=4 abk=focus
Sunday
A dry and bright start to the day for most of central and eastern Britain. Showers soon affect western Ireland, and begin to break out over western Britain through the morning. By afternoon, sunny spells give way to a scattering of locally heavy showers, becoming increasingly widespread across Britain and Ireland, pushing further east as the afternoon goes on. Rain over northern France may also affect eastern parts of the English Channel, and clip the far south-east of England in the morning. A fresh south-westerly breeze around southern and western coasts. Temperatures reaching 19 to 22C for England and Wales, feeling warm in sunshine. A little cooler for Scotland and Ireland typically 16 to 18C.
Sunday night
Most of the showers will fade away overnight, although a few continue in the north and west. Clear spells developing for many, with light south-westerly winds. Patchy rain and showers may push into western Ireland toward morning. Temperatures dropping to between 8 and 11C for most, although rural spots may fall a few degrees lower.
Monday
A broad area of low pressure is centred to the north of the British Isles on Monday, with light winds for most. A bright start, particularly in the east, before showers are again expected to break out, particularly by afternoon. Light winds mean these may be slow moving in central and eastern areas of England. The south-east may avoid the worst and see longer sunny spells. Thicker cloud in the west, may produce showers or spells of more persistent rain for Ireland. Highs 15 or 16C in the north-west, to 22 or 23C in the south-east.
Tuesday
Light winds again on Tuesday, generally from a northerly direction. Slow moving showers are likely to break out, particularly for inland areas of the Midlands, northern England and Scotland. These may merge into an hour or more of rain locally, whilst not too far away may stay completely dry. A few showers for Ireland, but western parts of the British Isles are generally drier and brighter as pressure builds. Eastern England may drag in low cloud off the North Sea. Highs 18 to 22C, but locally warmer in any sun.
