Saturday
A small area of low pressure is centred over north-west Scotland, and a cold front moves slowly south-eastwards on Saturday. Outbreaks of rain for Ireland in the morning, soon also moving into western Scotland. Rain is expected to persist most of the day for Northern Ireland and western Scotland, although unlikely to reach eastern Scotland until evening. England and Wales will stay largely dry, clouding up from the west, and chance of a late thundery shower. Best sunshine in central, eastern and southern England where temperatures will reach 26 to 29C. Cooler in the north and west at 17 to 22C, although north-east Scotland may climb to 25C. Light winds for most, but a freshening north-westerly breeze in the west.
Saturday night
Low risk an isolated thunderstorm in the far south-east of England during the evening. Rain will continue to affect Highland Scotland on Saturday evening, extending further eastwards. Patchier rain for central-southern Scotland and Borders region, although the odd heavier burst. A scattering of showery rain for north-western England and Wales, but may not amount to much. A lot of cloud and fragments of rain across northern Britain by dawn on Sunday. Clearer skies in southern Britain and Ireland. Overnight temperatures 10 to 15C.
Sunday
Low pressure is centred over the North Sea on Sunday. A cold front moves south-eastwards across England, and in the morning this may lead to a few thundery showers for eastern England. Overall there will be a lot of cloud around, but brighter skies may develop across the Midlands. Scotland and Northern Ireland are expected to see some heavy showers, perhaps giving areas of more organised rain. Showery bursts may also develop for north Wales and northern England. Generally dry for south-western Britain and Ireland. A brisk north-westerly breeze around southern and western coasts. Highs 19 to 25C, coolest north-west.
Monday
High pressure is to the west of the British Isles on Monday. The remnants of Sunday's showers may linger as an area of rain in the south-east of England, and perhaps the odd heavy burst through the day. Elsewhere, a scattering of showers may develop, and it may remain cloudy for many areas. A light northerly breeze, strongest around western coasts. A scattering of showers is possible for the east and south-east of England. Cooler than recently, highs 20 to 24C.
