Wednesday
A cool and breezy day to come across the UK and Ireland. Broken cloud this morning, and mostly dry, with the best of any sunshine across more southern areas. Thicker cloud and the remnants of some rain in northern England and slipping into the Midlands and East Anglia. A few showers in the west and south but these staying well scattered into this afternoon. More persistent showers or outbreaks of patchy rain in the northern half of Scotland as well as the north and east of Northern Ireland. Highs at 14 to 22C.

Wednesday night
Becoming dry overnight. Skies will become clear for many, although for more northern and west parts of England and Wales there may be some cloud drifting in from time to time giving an odd light shower. A low risk of some rain returning to the Hebrides and the far west. Lows at 9 to 12C.

Thursday
An area of low pressure will be over the far southwest of Norway on Thursday. A west to northwest flow through all areas, bringing some showers to Scotland and the west of the UK and Ireland. Some more persistent showers may affect southwest England and southern Ireland, clear south in the afternoon. Elsewhere there will be sunny spells and a scattering of showers, one or two of them heavy. Highs at 14 to 22C.

Friday
A trough moving south through the country on Friday bringing an area of showery rain through Scotland and northern England, this then clearing south through East Anglia and the Midlands as well as southeast England. Brighter weather follows from the northwest bringing sunny spells and drier conditions. Western parts of the UK and the whole of Ireland should be drier with sunny spells throughout. Highs at 14 to 21C.
