A cloudy start to the day across much of the UK. There could be a few spots of drizzle on eastern hills and coasts at first and some mist patches too. Sunny spells to the west and south, although a few showers over southern Ireland and southwest England. Becoming brighter for most this afternoon with some good spells of very warm sunshine affecting much of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Showers still for southern Ireland and southwest England. Highs at 26C in southern England, 17C in northern England.

Thursday night
A cloudy night across much of the country. There will be some drizzle affecting eastern coasts of Scotland and northeast England. Showers over central and southern England and Wales as well as southern Ireland, although these tending to fade as the night progresses. Drier for northwest England and western Scotland as well as Ireland. Lows near 9 to 14C.

Friday
Low pressure is to the southwest of the country through Friday. This brings cloud and some showers through Wales, southern Ireland, central and southern England, a few becoming heavy in the afternoon. Low cloud again in eastern Scotland and northeastern England giving a few spots of drizzle in the morning, but this tending to break. Afternoon showers for much of Wales and northwest England as well as Ireland. Fewer showers elsewhere. The best sunshine in western Scotland. Highs at 17 to 27C.

Saturday
A trough of low pressure through England, Wales and southern Ireland brings the threat of some heavy and thundery showers on Saturday. It will be remaining very warm. Rain may affect southern Scotland and northern England. Most of Scotland should be dry with sunny spells. Highs at 17C in northern Scotland, 26C in southern England.
