Rain in west & north Drier east seiten=4 abk=focus

Tuesday
Rather a cloudy start ot the day on Tuesday in most areas. There will be periods of rain affecting much of Wales and southwest England, this tending to become heavier and more persistent in the southwest as the day progresses. Southern facing slopes tending to see the majority of the rainfall. This will be the case in southern Scotland too where the southern facing hills will be wet, although areas north of the hills should be drier. It is likely to be dry in eastern England too. An increasing south to southeast wind, with highs near 7C in central Scotland, but to 14C in southeast England.

Tuesday night
A band of showery rain passing east and north through the country overnight into Wednesday. Some of the rain could be heavy and thundery in Wal;es and Northern Ireland. Again it will be southern facing slopes that see most of it, with the risk of some localised flooding in some parts. Lows near 5 to 10C.

Wednesday
A large area of low pressure will be to the west of the country through Wednesday. This brings a cloudy start to most with periods of rain affecting many areas in the morning, although gradually becoming drier from the south. Rain may affect eastern Scotland for much of the day, with showers over west Wales and southern England, although gradually turning brighter in many central and southern areas. Highs at 10 to 14C.

Thursday
Low pressure stays west of the country on Thursday. Fronts moving into Ireland and the west of the UK through the day bringing some heavy periods of rain here. Drier in more eastern areas, although with the winds increasing here. Much of Scotland should be dry too. Top temperatures at 10 to 14C.
