Wednesday
Central and southern England are dry but mostly cloudy on Wednesday, some occasional sun. Eastern regions of England and Scotland will see drizzle and the odd shower. Western Scotland and north-west England dry and bright. Persistent rain will affect southern Ireland during the morning, moving slowly north. Patchy rain also for Devon, Cornwall and south Wales in the morning. Becoming mostly drizzly and light rain in the south-west by afternoon, although the rain extends further north across Wales. A little drizzle may move into the far west of the Midlands. A brisk south-easterly wind around some coasts, particularly in the west and south-west. Highs 8 to 11C.
Wednesday night
Light rain and drizzle for Northern Ireland, northern England, southern and eastern Scotland on Wednesday evening and overnight. A lot of low cloud and mist in northern Britain. Breaks in the cloud across southern parts of Ireland and Britain may allow fog patches to form in low lying areas. Light south-easterly winds. Overnight lows 4 to 7C for most, perhaps a little cooler in central areas of Ireland.
Thursday
A lot of cloud to start the day. Areas of patchy drizzly rain are likely to affect Scotland and northern England, particularly toward the east. Aside from isolated pockets of drizzle, most of Britain and Ireland will be dry during Thursday. Brighter skies developing for central and southern areas, and a little sunshine may break through from time to time. A light east to south-easterly breeze, although a fresher easterly wind on the south coast. Temperatures between 8 and 11C for most.
Friday
A cloudy day for most areas, perhaps with occasional glimpses of sunshine in central and eastern England. Slowly, fronts approach from the south-west, turning wet for Ireland, and by the end of the day rain encroaching onto western areas of Britain. Freshening south-easterly winds, nearing gale force around western coasts and hills. Elsewhere, patchy drizzle may come and go in the south of England, also eastern Scotland and north-east England, but amounting to very little. Temperatures 8 to 12C.
