Saturday
Low pressure is centred north-west of Britain on Saturday. A weakening front stretches from north-east to south-west across central areas of England. A wet morning in Scotland, particularly in the east and north-east, accompanied by strong south-easterly winds, but rain gradually clearing. Showers for western parts of Scotland and Ireland. Dry and bright with some sunshine for eastern Ireland. A lot of cloud persisting for most of Britain, brightest skies toward the west. Drizzle and a few bursts of rain moving north-east across the Midlands and eastern England, but any rain becoming rare by afternoon toward the west. Feeling milder in the south-east, highs 13 or 14C. Elsewhere in England and Wales nearer 10 to 12C, and 8 or 9C for Ireland and Scotland.
Saturday night
By evening, the same frontal system redevelops across the English Channel, and spreads an area of rain northwards into southern and eastern England overnight, although mostly light or moderate rainfall. Blustery showers affect western Scotland and the north-west of Ireland. It will be a chilly night for Wales, the north-western Midlands, northern England, much of Scotland and Ireland, with skies clearing and some mist and fog forming. Temperatures dropping close to freezing in Scotland and Ireland, but typically 4 to 6C for Wales and the Midlands, and staying close to 7 or 8C in the south and east of England.
Sunday
A slow moving front affects central, southern and eastern England on Sunday. Areas from about Dorset to the Humber estuary are likely to stay grey and damp most of the day, with persistent rain slowly moving eastwards, but staying wet in the south-east until evening. Gradually, brighter skies will spread from the west across southern England and the Midlands. A dry and bright but cool day for Ireland, Wales, northern England and eastern Scotland, with some sunshine. Blustery with showers in western Scotland, possibly frequent with snow over the tops of the Highlands. Beneath the rain it will feel noticeably cool and unpleasant, struggling to 6 or 7C. Nearer 8 or 9C in brighter skies in the west.
Monday
A cold start to the day, with fog patches and a frost possible. Many places are dry during the day, with variable amounts of cloud and sunny periods. With light winds, some low lying areas may see mist and fog may linger well into the day. A few showers may graze onto the south coast of England, perhaps becoming more frequent and extensive later in the day. A chilly north-easterly breeze in the south. A front moves into the west of Ireland, and far north-west of Scotland, bringing a little patchy rain before the end of the day. Feeling cool with temperatures at 6 to 9C.
