The best chance of any brightness is going to be through northeast England and the east of Scotland. Further drizzle may affect western Scotland later. Highs around 6 to 9C in mainly light winds.

Some more persistent drizzle arriving in northwest Scotland and western Ireland later. Lows of -2C in the clearer skies, 1 to 3C under the cloud.

Pressure is remaining high across much of the country on Thursday. Low pressure west of Ireland has a front associated with it bringing cloud and some rain in the far north of Scotland. There could be low cloud and outbreaks of drizzle affecting southwest England, Wales and northwest England. More eastern and southern areas will be dry with cloud breaking and sunny spells developing. Highs at 6 to 11C.
