A cloudy start to the day over much of the country, although there will be some sunshine across eastern Scotland at first. Outbreaks of rain in England and Wales early this morning, but this fading and becoming mostly dry, although staying cloudy. Thicker cloud and some rain in Ireland, this reaching western Scotland and western Wales by midday. A damp afternoon in Scotland and northern England, Wales and Ireland. For the rest of England it is likely to be staying cloudy, with an increasing risk of drizzle, although staying mostly dry to the southeast. Highs near 6 to 12C.
Wednesday Night
A cloudy night with outbreaks of drizzly rain in the north and west. Mostly dry to the south and east. By midnight heavier rain will be arriving in western Scotland, this then pushing southeast through Scotland and Ireland, reaching northern England and Wales in the early hours, and then into southwest England and the Midlands by morning. Snow showers follow into northern and western Scotland. Becoming breezy for all. Lows at 2C in northern Scotland later, 10C in southwest England.
Thursday
A cold front brings heavy rain on Thursday morning across northern England, Wales, southwest England and the Midlands. This will be spreading southeast as the morning progresses, becoming slow moving over East Anglia and the southeast in the afternoon. Much brighter, cooler weather following to the north and west, with showers affecting the north and west of Scotland and Ireland, these turning increasingly wintry. Windy in northern Scotland and much of Ireland. Highs at 4 to 10C, but turning colder for all through the day.

A ridge of high pressure building through the country on Friday. Lower pressure north of Scotland allows for cloud and showers here. Rather cloudy over western parts of England and Wales, although a few brighter spells forming in the east. Fronts reaching Ireland later bringing rain here. Highs near 5 to 8C.
