Thursday
A cold front is passing eastwards today bringing a band of showery rain, some heavy bursts at times. Gusty winds ahead of the rain band which will be reaching southeast England later this morning. Turning drier and brighter to the rear of the band of rain with good spells of sunshine into southwest England, Wales, northern England and much of eastern Scotland and eastern Ireland. This sunshine lasting into the afternoon. Showers affecting the west of Scotland and Ireland, a few heavy and wintry. Highs at 5 to 12C.
Thursday Night
Any remaining rain soon clearing the far southeast this evening. This will be followed by dry weather and some clear skies for most. However, windier weather with rain and showers in the north and west of Scotland and Ireland continues throughout the night. Gales in much of central and northern Scotland. Eastern areas should be drier. Lows near 0 to 2C.
Friday
A ridge of high pressure builds through the country on Friday. There may be a fair amount of cloud at first, perhaps with some spots of drizzle on western coasts and hills. This fading and the sun breaking through to leave most places dry with sunny spells. Some cloud and showers in northern and western Scotland. A front moves into Ireland through the afternoon bringing showery rain, the winds increasing in the north and west. Highs at 5 to 8C.
Saturday
Early rain clears east on Saturday morning as an occluded front moves away from the country. Most places then become dry. However, a developing low west of Ireland pushes rain back eastwards this becoming heavy at times and reaching western parts of the UK by evening. Highs at 7 to 12C.
