Thursday
A dry and fair morning for many parts of the country. There best of any sunshine is going to be in the east. To the west cloud is going to be increasing and this will be bringing rain through Ireland, reaching the west of Wales during the morning. Thicker cloud and stronger winds then affecting the west of Scotland, Wales, Ireland and the extreme west of England by midday. Little change is expected in the afternoon with more eastern parts of England tending to stay dry, although with an increased breeze. More persistent rain in western Scotland and northwest England, some heavier bursts in Ireland too. Lighter rain across southwest England. Highs near 7 to 11C.
Thursday night
A cloudy and damp night to come for many parts of the country. There will be more persistent rain in the north and west, this slipping east as the night progresses, although some parts of East Anglia and the southeast may see little more than a few spots of drizzle. Drier during the second half of the night over western Scotland and Ireland. Lows near 1C in western Scotland, 6C in southern England.
Friday
A slow moving front stretches north to south across Britain, bringing a cloudy day for many. Rain may persist across central areas for several hours, although some uncertainty about the extent and duration of rain. Areas of rain may also affect the English Channel. The east coast of England may avoid the rain and stay fairly bright. Ireland and western Scotland should have a brighter day, with sunny spells. Light winds for most. Temperatures between 7 and 11C, feeling cool where rain lingers.
Saturday
A dry day on the whole across Britain and Ireland. High pressure centred over Scandinavia. However there is likely to be a lot of cloud, and it will be feeling cool in the south-east with an increasing easterly breeze. Light winds for western England and Wales. A little sunshine may break through toward the west of Wales and north-west Scotland. Locally a frost early and late where skies stay clear. Temperatures struggling between 6 and 9C for many, although locally 10 or 11C in any sunshine.
